Cool Climate Analytical was founded in 2005 by Dr. Paul Rupert and Jon Treloar. Jon was an instructor in the AgTech Enology and Viticulture Program at Michigan State University and has since moved on to fulfill his goal of owning and operating his own vineyard and winery.

Paul, in addition to owning and operating CCA, is Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Adrian College, a liberal arts college located in Adrian, Michigan. He received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Carnegie-Mellon University and a PhD in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. He also completed The Executive Program at the University of Virginia and attended the Enology and Viticulture Program at Michigan State University. While there, he did an internship at the Michigan Grape and Wine Industry Council. He was designated a Certified Wine Chemist by the TTB in 2007 and was recertified in 2009.
